Boni, i would paint that cane while your at it  ;D

Wow, Jan,
We can always count on you for words of wisdom.  I had not yet thought of that.  I was just going to shove some of it through the extruder and see what comes out!

Boni, you should.  Please do.  I'd love to see what comes out.

Boni, the extruder is a good idea, or you could cut into it with a contrast colour and make it abstract. The colour tends to grow on you.

Or you could slice it and color the slices with diluted ibid to change the color but keep the shading

My computer is dying and I got a new laptop but haven't had time to set it up yet.
I can't wait till the come up with an IPad that is a full computer and also has a little handset that you can use as a phone kind of a all in one jobby. That's my dream machine. And I want it to have a kickstand too and be about the size of a cafeteria tray.
That's what I'm talking about!!!!!

Last weekend I decided to attempt a hollow bead using the lost wax method and all was going well until I took it out of the oven and it fell into the wax so I grabbed it as quickly as I could and managed to stick my finger straight through it.  I think this method has potential though.  The wax I used was scented (purchased at the Belfast International Christmas market last December) and 5 days later, every time I turn on the oven my house smells like a winter wonderland.   ::)

Hi Mel,

Have you tried cornstarch packaging 'peanuts' to make hollow beads with?  You can squish a couple lightly together to form a ball (the ball is usually a slightly 'organic' shape cos it's hard to get a perfect ball with cornstarch peanuts), cover with polyclay, bake, and then wash the cornstarch out of the bead by swishing it around in water (and blowing the stubborn bits out through the bead holes).  It won't make your house smell gorgeous though! :-)
