Silk Strings/Ribbons
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:59:17 PM »
I wondered if you guys used these for your pendants, have been looking at Emmas supplies and drooling. I wondered how you would finish these off? Any tips would be helpful  ;D
I was worried that silk might prove to be a bit slippy....

I just use the metal cord ends than you close the side's in on, work perfectly fine for me.  :D

I use the silk strings a lot  - they look really good. Same as Angie, I use cord ends to finish them - the sort where you fold over both sides to trap the cord/silk. No probs with slipping at all.

I've got cord ends in both sterling silver and copper finish which work really nicely. They are the type you just squish down the middle of

YOu can also do an adjustable knot - http://www.ejrbeads.co.uk/adjustable%20page%201.htm

Or wire-wrap the ends to form your own clasp. Or sew one end into a loop, and sew a button on the other end.

Loads of ways to use them!
