THey really suit your chunky style  :)
I did something similar with o-rings once but I noticed the rubber had perished when I came to put that necklace on the other day >:(

Thanks for showing those photos Jan.  I made a polymer toggle a while back much like your leopard cane toggle and I never put any holes for attaching so I been trying to figure out how to use it.  Anyway, now I'm having one of those DUH moments!  ;D Mel

thanks for the photos I was looking at your sliding clasps on flickr I think they are fantastic will be giving them a go as I have a lot of people who say I would love that but i cant wear metal, so i have made slide knots from leather cord but yours look more stylish... How do you get the size right for toggle clasp?

Size for toggle ??? i usually "just wing it" but if you stick part should be almost as long or longer than the diameter of the hoop part.  I drill a hole in one side of hoop - put soft flex wire through hole , seed bead on wire and then back down hole, then crimp bead then start stringing. at the bar end i do the same thing but you need a few extra seed beads at the bar end to allow it to go through the hole and end up in the middle of your neck when wearing.

Here is one picture of button- loop clasps I have made. I teach my students to make corresponding button to necklaces as I have found that it usually is one the easiests clasps to use.

Here is another one, this time similar than the cane beads
