Fast Skinner blends
« on: April 30, 2011, 05:16:06 PM »
Just thought I'd let you know that Cindy Lietz is showing her Teardrop Blend tutorial for free next week - you usually have to be a member to see her videos.

It's basically a faster Skinner blend, I thought it might be useful for people. Being a member I've already seen the video, and I do use bits of that technique every time I make a blend and find them pretty helpful.

(Hope this is okay Emma! I thought it would be all right since it's free.)

Thanks for the head's up Anna-

I have removed the direct link, as the tutorial doesn't appear to be live right now. Happy for you to post it again all the while the free product is actually there - so long as people do not have to sign up with them to view it. And people of course can easily google her name to find her pages if they are interested.

No, no signup needed, I think it goes live on Monday but there's no guarantee that I'll remember about it then! ;)

I guess the idea is that she's letting people see it for free for a week in the hope that some of those people will sign up as members as they've done before, but there's absolutely no requirement to do so.

The best tip from that for me is when you roll the sheet up - it means you can kind of "de-reduce" it as if it's a cane, and so make your blend narrower really easily.

I do switch back to the normal folding technique towards the end though because I think it gives a smoother blend effect.

Just come in from the shed after giving it a go and..... success!  Gave me a really good blend, the rolling trick makes all the difference!

Thanks again Anna
