Well done Claire for starting the new gallery thread - as usual, your moderator is away with the fairies. How can it be August already? HOW???

I've had quite a creative slump when it comes to polyclay for a while now. I've done nothing creative clay-wise really for ages other than some magazine stuff and a few test tiles for different products.

Ok, I confess that I did these at the end of last month. *Please don't ban me, Mrs. Emma!*  :D

Just experimenting with gold leaf foil and alcohol inks.

I'm sort of reminded about the discussion I think Joe started about whether painting polymer clay is cheating.  It probably is in this case, but I can't think of any other way of getting an effect like this other than this method.  :o

Oh those are gorgeous!

And honestly - use these showcases for any makes, old and new.

There is no rule that the item has to be made in that month. The showcase just provides a handy format that those making stuff can show their latest and greatest and keeping the threads monthly stops them getting long and going off-piste.

But if any of you find photos of old work you want to share, I am sure none of will mind in the least! In fact I very nearly shared some old work of mine the other day just to add some eye-candy to the thread, but I got distracted.

Who knows actually - posting pics of older stuff might be a great way to get the creative juices firing again when we lose our mojo too

This is one of those coincidences. I was going through a box of some odd bits and pieces and came across an old 'mask' piece I made sometime in the early 80's and I thought 'now that's strange perhaps I ought to post this on the forum for a bit of fun', then promptly forgot about it-too busy amusing myself with my bits and pieces. As I don't have a photo of it yet I'll try to do it soon and post it- just for a laugh.

Oh I'd love to see it!

I leave it up to you guys - if you want to put older work in the regular gallery threads - or maybe we can start a Retro thread separately for looking at past glories?

Whatever y'all think would be best

I'd go for a retro thread, Emma, complete with psychedelic shirt, spats and flare jeans, but then I don't have the hassle of setting it up.  :o  I always try and post in the appropriate thread and usually post as soon as I've made something.  I have a few retro fails, but I think there's a fail thread.  ;D

Sorry brain like a sieve, meant to say how much I loved your work Alan. I especially like the ripped edges of the pendant in the final picture, it's like torn metal.
