Hello from Sunny South Florida !
« on: June 21, 2015, 02:05:36 AM »
Hello,

My name is Jenni Luna and I am a newbie to polymer clay. Started this hobby because my true love BAKING has been put on hold while we are between homes. With all my tools in storage I needed a way to be "creative".  And since I can still make sweets although not edible lol I thought it was a perfect outlet! So I'm here hoping I can learn some more and to share my experiences with polymer clay.

Thanks for having me  :)

Welcome to the forum Jenni!

Too bad you aren't able to bake right now, but at least it brought you to clay and to the forum.

Of course the big question is, once you're able to be baking real food again will you cast off the polymer clay or will it have you hooked by then?

I came to clay through jewellery making and to be honest once I started making clay beads I got hooked doing that and have done very little actual jewellery making since

Hello Jenni, welcome,

I too like to bake, but for some reason can not make polymer clay cakes and sweets, they just never look right. Do you make miniature ones, dolls house size, or larger?

Hi Emma!

I think I'm hooked!! lol
The more I work with it the more I love it!  Sugar pieces are so unforgiving !! lol and they dry out and crack if you dont work fast enough.  I feel so much freedom with clay.
So i think i'm going to stick with both!! : )

Funny you say that because I attempted my first rainbow cake last night and it was terrible!! lol

Although my first donut and cupcakes were cute lol

So farmy pieces arent too tiny. Maybe an inch or bigger.  I love miniatures but not sure if I have the finess or patience to try it!! Hahahahahaha
