glueing metal to baked clay
« on: May 31, 2015, 03:18:58 PM »
Hope I am asking this question in the correct category - if not please let me know.

I am trying to make clay cabs that I then want to attach both a bail and a fender washer (to attract a magnetic) to the back of a polymer cab. The glue will need to hold up well because of a strong magnetic being attached to it.  I currently do this with metal and glass and it works great.  But I want to venture into doing the some type of thing with polymer clay.

I read a great review (on The BlueBottleTree) about gluing metal to clay. But then there were lots of comments that  confused me a bit.  My basic understanding is that I should start my testing with either a two part epoxy or a liquid clay.  But before I spend more money on glue I would love some suggestions from you talented folks.

Thank you for your time, Katherine

I would say if you are glueing metal to clay go with the 2 part epoxy.

if you are "glueing" baked clay with unbaked than go with liquid clay.

Thank you Karolina - any thoughts on which 2-part epoxy works best with metal to backed clay?

Gorilla 2 part epoxy works amazing and is relatively cheap(at least in Canada)
