Christmas Colour Recipe!
« on: November 12, 2013, 06:38:00 PM »
Hi, I have been trying all afternoon trying to mix the right colour for making gingerbread people and houses but it still does not look right!  Does anyone have a favourite recipe I can use?

Oddly enough, the Fimo people just sent through a project today for making Gingerbread decorations.

You can view their project pdf for free here http://www.ejrbeads.co.uk/images/Festive%20Gingerbread.pdf

They use Cognac Fimo Soft straight from the packet, which I think is a pretty good colour for Gingerbread as it happens. But you could tweak that further if it doesn't seem quite right.

Also, things like our small Deco beads in the clear colour make great faux "sugar". The larger size deco beads are great for imitating other cake decorations. Liquid clays like Fimo Deko Gel can be mixed with mica pigment powders to create icing.
