about me, well mum of 2, wife of Roger! I'm very much involved with children i.e. Toddler group leader, Brownie & Rainbow leader, Nursery nurse but I work part time as a childminder and part in a school kitchen. I also breed and show budgies, my main hobby now, but I love my craft hobbies too xxxx

It was only when my mother got her parrot that I realised how lovely her budgie had been.

Lol!

I had a long-term fantasy about having a parrot, ever since I was a kid.

That was until I visited some family friends who had several rescue parrots. I went into their room where they were all out on their perches having fun - I lasted about 3 seconds before their incredibly loud noises drove me out.

In an instant, I knew that me and parrots were a no go.

Now I just really want a pet crow instead  ;D

Emma, I have a crow stalker. I walk through this little park near my house to get to the bus stop and sometimes take some peanuts for the crows (nearly always). Now there is one crow who recognises me, and appears like magic whenever I'm there. He sometimes follows me half the way home, and one day followed me all the way to the bus stop. (Must be a peanut addict!)

A flamingo you say, how lovely and exotic! I want you to have a parrot too. Till then here are some nice people and their parrot stories
 http://www.birdchannel.com/featured-species/amazon-parrot-08/amazon-parrot-story.aspx  a nice read.

It was at a local park where they back then kept them without a fence and he came up to me even putting his cheek to mine. My parrot story is here also somewhere :)

Sorry for the wandering in your thread BudgieGalie.... i will stop now!

Yes, I was going to apologise as well for hijacking your thread, but maybe, given the birdie nature of the digression you wont mind too much.
Welcome to the forums, hope to see some pictures of your Birdies and other crafts.

Wow so amazing!

They are so tiny all curled up in their shells. Amazing to see what they will become. Nature is fascinating, birds especially so

Thanks for sharing

I just noticed these lovely photo's. Those little newborns look so helpless, it's hard to imagine they could survive.
I've never had a budgie, what are their qualities that make them nice to have around?
